My practice
As a therapist, I have had the opportunity to work with diverse clientele in both non-profit and private practice settings.
Prior to my work as a clinician, I gained over 30-years of experience as a volunteer for organizations such as The United Way, Big Brothers Big Sisters, The YMCAand Restore Ministries. Through Restore, I began leading small groups focused on recovery and helped establish Journey to Freedom Ukraine. I serve as the Executive Director of this ministry in an underserved part of the world.
In my clinical work, I have been able to leverage this experience and have come to believe that therapeutic models that explore family dynamics and past trauma often lead clients to healing and change.
My areas of special clinical interest include anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and process addictions including sex and pornography. My therapeutic approach is evidence-based and informed by models including contextual therapy, restoration therapy, and internal family systems. I also incorporate elements of the the 12-step model of recovery in my work with clients struggling with life-controlling issues.
